Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 18, 2026

3DG makes custom 3D printed NFC products: smart pet tags, keychains, and business stands, each one produced after you order it. This page explains exactly what we collect to make and ship those pieces, what we do with it, and how you can get it back or have it deleted.

Who we are

3DG is a small custom manufacturing studio based in Los Angeles, California, USA. We are the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at [email protected] or on Instagram at @3dg.la.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address, your password (kept only as an Argon2 hash, never in readable form), and your name if you choose to give it.
  • Order and delivery details: your phone number, your delivery address, and the order itself: the product, colours, sizes, the pet or business name to be printed, and the links you ask us to program into the NFC chip.
  • Uploads: the images you send us for a piece, such as a pet photo or a company logo.
  • Technical logs: your IP address, your browser user agent, and the timestamps of sign-in, sign-out, and registration events. We keep these to detect brute-force attempts and to protect accounts, not to profile you.

We do not ask for and do not want card numbers, government identifiers, or health information. Please do not send them to us.

How we use it

  • To design, print, program, finish, and ship the item you ordered.
  • To contact you about that order, including questions about artwork or fit.
  • To keep your account working and let you reuse your saved delivery details.
  • To secure the service: rate limiting, lockouts, and abuse investigation.
  • To meet bookkeeping and tax obligations that apply to a sale.

Cookies and local storage

We set one cookie: 3dg_session. It holds a random session token, is marked HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, is sent over HTTPS in production, and expires after 30 days or when you sign out. It exists only to keep you signed in. Without it you cannot have an account.

We also store one flag in your browser’s local storage, 3dg-cookie-notice, so the cookie notice stops reappearing once you dismiss it. It never leaves your device.

We run no analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers, and no social media scripts. Nothing on this site follows you to other sites.

Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie and storage key we use, with its exact purpose, lifetime, and how to control it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information and we do not trade it. We share only what a delivery needs, with two kinds of recipients:

  • Shipping carriers, who receive your name, address, and phone number so the parcel can reach you.
  • Our hosting provider, which runs the server that stores the site database and your uploads.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, for example a valid legal request, or to defend against fraud or abuse of the service.

How long we keep it

Order records, including the artwork used to produce your piece, are kept as long as we need them for fulfilment, warranty questions, and legal bookkeeping. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete it. Security logs are kept only as long as they are useful for detecting abuse, and attempt counters older than 24 hours are pruned automatically.

Your rights

Email [email protected] from the address on your account and you can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy of it;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete your account and the data attached to it;
  • send you your data in a portable, machine-readable file.

We answer within 45 days. Deleting an account does not erase records we must keep for accounting, and it cannot recall an item already in production or in transit.

California privacy rights

If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the rights listed above plus the right not to be treated differently for using them. In the past twelve months we collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email, postal address, phone number, IP address), commercial information (the orders you placed), internet activity limited to the sign-in logs described above, and visual information in the form of the images you uploaded.

We collected them for the purposes listed under “How we use it”. We have not sold personal information and have not shared it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond what is needed to provide the products you ask for. Using any of your rights never costs you a discount, a price, or a level of service.

Children

3DG is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child gave us data, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over TLS. Passwords are hashed with Argon2id and are never stored, logged, or emailed in readable form. Session tokens are stored only as a SHA-256 digest, so a copy of the database does not yield usable cookies. Accounts can be protected with two-factor authentication where available, and repeated failed sign-ins lock an account temporarily. No system is perfect, so use a unique password here.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we post the new version on this page and move the date at the top. Material changes to what we collect or why will also be mentioned at registration, so you always accept a version you can read.
